The options at a glance

What the official ticket includes

The palace is a private residence of the Colonna family. You walk through the Baroque great gallery whose ceiling celebrates the Battle of Lepanto, salons of paintings, then the terraced gardens. Depending on the route, the paintings include Annibale Carracci's Bean Eater. Allow 1h30 to 2 hours. The audio guide costs €5, and entry is free for under-12s on Saturday (two per paying adult). The Saturday entrance is at 17 Via della Pilotta; Friday tours and visitors with reduced mobility use Piazza dei Santi Apostoli. See our Palazzo Colonna page.

Tiqets or the official ticket?

The Tiqets listing (4.8 out of 5 from 640 reviews) gives entry to the gallery and the gardens, plus Princess Isabelle's apartment if you select it. The ticket is non-refundable and cannot be changed, and the listing shows only Saturday from 9am to 1:15pm. The palace opens just once a week: booking ahead avoids missing the one slot, and Tiqets also offers a combo with Palazzo Doria Pamphilj from about €52.10. Check on galleriacolonna.it that your Saturday is not closed for a private event or in summer.

When to take the Friday guided tour

On Friday only a reserved guided tour (€35) gets you in; it costs more but explains more: the Hall of Mirrors and the paintings make more sense with a guide. The French-language slot is at 10:30am. If you visit at the weekend, Saturday with a €5 audio guide is enough for most visitors.

Planning the visit

The palace is five minutes on foot from Piazza Venezia; pair it with the Trevi and the Quirinal or, for another private palace, the Doria Pamphilj Gallery. Arrive at opening, before the heat and the crowds.
