What the official ticket includes

The official site states that access is impossible without a reservation, and that the audio guide in four languages is included. Allow about 1.5 hours. The secret apartments, with the Bath of Diana, are not included and are booked separately. There is no cloakroom: only small bags are accepted, large luggage and backpacks are refused. See the Doria Pamphilj Gallery page.

Official hours

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9am to 7pm (last entry 6pm); Friday to Sunday 10am to 8pm (last entry 7pm). Closed on Wednesdays, 1 January, Easter and 25 December. Address: Via del Corso 305. The Tiqets listing shows other hours: if in doubt, follow the official site.

Tiqets or the official site?

The official ticket is cheapest (€17 online). The Tiqets ticket is for those who want free cancellation up to 24 hours before, or to add the secret apartments. The Tiqets listing is rated 4.6 out of 5 from 536 reviews. Neither offer avoids booking a time slot.

Guided visit or audio guide?

The included audio guide is enough for most visitors: the collection, with Caravaggio and Velázquez, is presented room by room. A guided visit is worth it to go deeper; to compare with other museums, read which museum to choose in Rome. On a rainy day the gallery is a safe bet: Rome on a rainy day.

Which to choose

  • Budget: the official ticket online, at €17.
  • Cancellation flexibility: the Tiqets ticket.
  • Two visits in one: a Tiqets bundle, after comparing.
