Christmas Concerts in Rome 2026: Churches, Opera, Tickets

Updated on October 23, 2026

In Rome, Christmas concerts are mostly given in churches and historic venues, and are booked online: a Christmas opera concert with aperitivo (75 minutes, from about $47), a Christmas concert at St Paul's Within the Walls church (80 minutes, from about $34) and a baroque concert in the Capuchin Crypt (1 h 30, from about $99) [GetYourGuide, October 2026]. The exact December 2026 dates are not yet published: they appear when ticket sales open. For free church concerts there is no central programme: see below. ![Christmas in Piazza Navona](/images/uploads/commons/parione-navona-natale-1150363.jpg) ## Christmas concerts you can book | Concert | Venue | Length | Indicative price | Note | |---|---|---|---|---| | Christmas opera concert with aperitivo | Central Rome | 75 min | From about $47 | 4.7 out of 5, about 60 reviews | | Christmas concert, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Handel | St Paul's Within the Walls | 80 min | From about $34 | Few reviews | | Baroque Christmas concert (Schola Romana) | Capuchin Crypt | 1 h 30 | From about $99 | Small group | Our pick: the Christmas opera concert with aperitivo, the best rated of the category. The church or the crypt add atmosphere, but the offer is dearer or less proven. Prices in dollars, shown in October 2026. ## Concerts that run all year If no Christmas concert is available on the evening you want, the tenor and opera concerts given all year in churches will do: "The Three Tenors" at St Paul's Within the Walls (1 h 30, from about $39, rated 4.8 from about 1,100 reviews) is the best known. A "New Year's Day Concert" version for 1 January is also listed, with very few reviews. On the night of 31 December, the Circo Massimo concert is free (see New Year in Rome). For other events, see the Christmas in Rome page. ## Opera and auditorium The Rome Opera and the Auditorium Parco della Musica publish their season programmes: festive evenings sell quickly, so book as soon as sales open. ## Tips Churches are often cold: bring a jacket. Arrive 20 to 30 minutes early to get a good seat. On 24, 25 and 31 December, times may change: always confirm the date and time on the listing before booking. For the rest of the festive season, see Christmas in Rome 2026: Vatican Masses and closures and Rome's Christmas markets.
