The options
- Shuttle bus to Termini: Terravision and SIT link the airport to Termini in about 40 minutes without traffic, for about 6 € one way (11 to 12 € return). Terravision drops off on Via Marsala, alongside the station. At rush hour allow over an hour.
- Public bus + metro: a Cotral bus reaches Anagnina metro station (line A), then the metro goes to Termini. This is the cheapest option (about 2.70 € in total) but has two changes, impractical with suitcases.
- Taxi: fixed fare of 31 € for a ride between Ciampino and inside the Aurelian walls (luggage included), according to Rome's official tariff. Take only an official white taxi at the rank outside the terminal.
- Private transfer: to book in advance, useful for a group or a late arrival.
Private transfer with Welcome Pickups. You book in advance at a fixed price, an English-speaking driver waits in arrivals with a sign, and the flight is tracked so the driver waits if you land late. The price appears when you enter your flight and address; check the cancellation terms shown before you pay. If you travel alone, by day and with a light bag, the cheaper public option described on this page is usually better; the private transfer is worth it for a night arrival, a family, heavy luggage or a first visit.
Tips
- Bus prices and schedules change by operator and season: confirm them on the Terravision or SIT site.
- For departure, allow 40 to 50 minutes by bus to Ciampino and add security checks.
- The other airport, Fiumicino, is farther but linked by a direct train: see Rome airports and the Leonardo Express.
- For onward travel from the station, see Termini station and transport in Rome.
