What the official ticket covers
The official Vittoriano site says the monument's garden is free, while the panoramic terrace, the colonnade, the central Risorgimento museum and Palazzo Venezia need one ticket. It is valid for 7 days from issue, so you can come back for Palazzo Venezia. Two panoramic lifts rise about 80 m in 35 seconds. Hours read in October 2026: daily 9:30am to 7:30pm, last entry to the terrace at 7pm. Entry is free on the first Sunday of the month (so 1 November 2026), but that ticket is then valid on the day only: expect a queue.
The lift and museum ticket on GetYourGuide
This offer lets you book the lift and the museum without using the on-site ticket office. It is not cheaper than the official fare: you pay for a fixed date and a confirmation on your phone. Read the entry time, the cancellation terms and what is really included on the listing before paying.
Before you go up
- No special queue: the ticket skips the ticket desk, not necessarily the lift line, especially at weekends.
- The views: late afternoon gives the best light over the Forum; see the Vittoriano page.
- Combine: the Colosseum is booked separately, see Colosseum tickets and which tickets to book in Rome.
Which to choose
- Tight budget or just curious: the free monument entrance.
- A view of Rome and a little museum: the €18 official ticket.
- A date and time fixed by your schedule: the GetYourGuide offer, after comparing.
