Which sites the ticket opens

The National Roman Museum spreads over several places. Palazzo Massimo shows Roman sculpture, mosaics and frescoes, see the Palazzo Massimo page. Palazzo Altemps houses the Ludovisi, Mattei and Egyptian collections: Palazzo Altemps. The Baths of Diocletian complete the circuit. According to one listing, the Crypta Balbi was closed for works since 1 April 2026: I could not confirm it, check before you come.

Hours

The listings I read show opening Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:30am (Palazzo Altemps) or 9am to 7pm, with the ticket office closing at 6pm. Monday is therefore the presumed closing day, to be confirmed. Exact hours for each site are to be read on the official ticketing.

Combined ticket or a single site?

The combined ticket pays off as soon as you see two sites; for one only, check whether a separate fare exists on the official ticketing. To compare with the other major museums, read which museum to choose in Rome.

Which offer to choose

  • Two sites or more: the combined ticket, used over several days.
  • A fixed date: the Tiqets ticket.
  • First Sunday of the month: free entry, at opening.
