Castel Romano Designer Outlet: getting there and opening hours

Castel Romano Designer Outlet (Via del Ponte di Piscina Cupa 64) is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00 according to the official McArthurGlen page, read on 3 November 2026. It is about 30 minutes by car from central Rome, via the Via Pontina or Via di Trigoria. The official pages mention a shuttle from Rome Termini station (stop at Via Giolitti 48) and from EUR Fermi, but their times and fares contradict each other from page to page: confirm them with the centre before you leave.

Tax refund for non-EU visitors

Italy: you must live outside the European Union. Since 1 February 2024 the threshold is €70 (it was €154.94 before), for purchases combined on one invoice. The goods must leave the EU within three months. When you leave the EU, customs validates the paperwork (digital OTELLO stamp, at the customs desk or the tax-free operator's desk). Avoiding the crowds

A few habits that work everywhere: - Shop early on Friday morning or on a weekday: Saturday afternoon is usually the busiest time. - Keep your passport with you: the tax refund and some discounts require ID. - Note an item's price a week earlier: a crossed-out price is not always a real cut. - Read the return policy and the exclusions, and leave room (and weight) in your suitcase.
