Hours and opening
The official site shows 9:30am to 5pm from 26 October to 31 December 2026 (and 1 January to 29 March 2026 earlier in the year). The ticket office and last entry close an hour before closing time, so around 4pm in winter. The park is open every day of the year except 25 December. I did not read hours for early 2027: they will be published on the park's website.
What you see and for how long
The zoo is visited on foot, in the middle of Villa Borghese, which you can enjoy afterwards: the Villa Borghese park. Allow 2 to 3 hours. See the Bioparco page. Flamingos and camels are among the animals photographed on the page.
With children
It is a safe bet for a family half day. For more ideas, read Rome with children.
Tiqets ticket or ticket desk?
The official desk price is the easiest to check. The Tiqets ticket is worth it to prepare the visit ahead and keep the ticket on your phone. Either way, keep the Wednesday discount in mind for over-65s.
Which ticket to choose
- Family, weekday: the €14 child ticket, entering at opening.
- Over 65: on a Wednesday, at €9.
- A prepared outing: the Tiqets ticket.
